Tonight we won an award with work for a project I’ve been involved with. It was lovely for the achievements that have been made to be recognised and it was a surprisingly glamorous occasion for a bumpkin like me to be attending. Other people saying that you are doing well makes you reflect on what you’ve helped make happen, and tonight I feel really good. I feel proud for everyone involved, but for myself as well.
It was also a deadline for part of the project today, which we met and I’m happy with what we’ve done. Things are still going well! The next deadline is in a couple of weeks, so the pressure will be on again.
Because the awards evening involved a lot of sitting, I had a couple of thousand steps to crack when I got home. This has meant going out not only in the dark, but also the pouring rain to get the last steps in. After the success of the evening, I didn’t mind at all. I clocked up the steps and am now relaxing after a long day, very grateful that tomorrow is Friday. I’ve got plans for the evening, including calling in to see my brother and dinner with friends.
